WAR OF THE NEPHILIM

Antediluvian Action Adventure

Kenan and his friends travel a pre-flood world, dealing with evil men and hungry dinosaurs, in an effort to protect their small village. What would you do if evil men came for the ones you love?

Description

What's It Like?

The books read a bit like science fantasy with an emphasis on gritty action. No sex or swear words on page, though there's significant violence, the kind you might read about in the bible. See the Parental Warning.

Christian Themed

Every book in the series contains a Christian theme, such as belief, repentance, hope, and good vs. evil. The message isn't in your face, but it's there for the gleaning by those seeking and those hoping for a book you can read without concern about a counter-faith message.

Dinosaurs

Why is there a dinosaur on the covers? Well, this book presumes the flood described in the bible happened. Really. Dinosaurs (called dragons in these books and in many cultures on the globe) existed pre-flood. Post-flood, too. For more information, I recommend the information found at www.answersingenesis.org. Besides, dinosaurs are awesome!

THE BOOKS

Zowie, That's a Lot of Books!

How Many Books Are There?

As of this writing, there are five books published out of eight planned. Books six and seven are written and in editing. Book eight is outlined.

Why are Some Thick and Others Thin?

Tripp had planned on five books. But a few shorter stories needed to be told as the story progressed. Plus, most of the series was written WHILE Tripp worked full time and ran a thriving business. So, to get the fans a book sooner, he wrote some novellas. But they're story critical, so he numbered them with the five main books.

Where Should I Start?

Start at the beginning, because anything else is dragonscrape. The books should be read in the following order:

  1. The Woodbender

  2. The Storming of Blackstone Castle

  3. Crimson River Yard

  4. Windward on the Sea of Fire

  5. Hero of Ulneer

  6. The Toedragon's Claw (available for Christmas 2025)

  7. Sacrifice on the Dragongrass (available 2026)

  8. TBD

I Want to Know More

Launch into more information about book 1, The Woodbender, and the following books.

What Else Do You Have?

So far, you're looking at it. Tripp started writing less than ten years ago. His fiction books to date include just this series. But don't worry. More are coming.

Where do I Buy a Book?

All of Tripp's books are available on Amazon.

Want to pick one up in person? Get them at Berry Fruit Farm and Spruce Mountain Pharmacy. Or contact me for an in-person pickup in a safe, public place, at Tripp's option, because he scares easy.

PARENTAL WARNING

These books are gritty. They're not for everyone.

Dinosaurs. You heard there were dinosaurs in this book. Well, there are! Tyrannosaurs, Triceratops, and lots of Scelidosaurs stomping all through the pages of these books. More, too. Dinosaurs are cool.

Dinosaurs will probably attract younger readers. Parents, I want to talk to you about that.

I love kids. I’ve raised three of my own. I've worked with kids in youth group and Sunday school at our church. I’m a big kid myself. The very last thing I want to do is say something to negatively impact a child.

In this book, violence happens. There’s quite a lot of it, medieval style, so sensitive readers should be careful. There’s an intense scene where someone is strapped down and beaten with a stick, similar to a modern-day caning still practiced in places today. In this book, sex is implied but never described. If someone loses an article of clothing, it isn’t described. People’s desire for each other is discussed. Trigger warning: slavery and cruelty are used to show the evil in men’s hearts. There’s lots of foul language, but no modern swear words. Dragonscrape. I’d call these books PG-13. By young adult standards as a genre, these books are, I think, moderate to heavy. But I can be old-fashioned in this regard. I’d let my teens read this, but not my pre-teens.

If you let your child watch Jurassic Park, Star Wars, James Bond, and Marvel, there’s really nothing here they haven’t seen on screen. If you wouldn't dream of it, I encourage you to find a different book for your younger kids. I recommend Alcatraz and the Evil Librarians, by Brandon Sanderson. It’s a delight and not just for kids.

I am, thankfully, in no position to tell you how to raise your kids. That’s your job, not mine. If you have a concern, read this book before deciding whether to let them. And I urge you to ask for wisdom from the source of all wisdom. Kids are a challenge. Us parents need all the help we can get.
